What kind of batteries come with ProFLEX Heavy Duty?
The batteries have gray foam and green writing on them. They are Lithium Ion, 1300mAh, 3.7V, 4.81Wh. (Note: “watt hours” do not reflect how long the battery will last in the product or how long it will take the battery to charge or discharge.) This information is written on the back of the battery.
Can the batteries in the Heated Insoles be replaced?
Batteries for ProFLEX Heavy Duty Heated Insoles can be replaced. ProFLEX Heavy Duty Battery packs can be purchased through a local retailer or on this website. The ProFLEX Heavy Duty batteries are available for sale only in the Battery Pack.

In general, the batteries are within the acceptable Federal Aviation Administration’s limits for Lithium Ion batteries. However, you should check with www.faa.gov for updated information and information on carrying the batteries in checked vs. carry-on baggage.
How long will it take to charge the Heavy Duty batteries in the Heavy Duty Smart Charging Case?
The batteries will charge in 2 hours or less.
Can I charge one battery at a time or do I have to charge both at the same time?
You can charge either both batteries together or one battery at a time in the ThermaCELL Smart Charging Case.
How long will ProFLEX Heavy Duty Heated Insoles remain charged?

Can I recharge Heated Insoles before they are fully discharged?
You can recharge Heated Insoles before they are fully discharged.
How many times can the batteries be recharged?
Heated Insoles can be recharged over 500 times.
Can I use original ProFLEX batteries and the ProFLEX original Smart Charging Case with my Heavy Duty (green) ProFLEX insoles?
Yes. You can use the batteries from the original ProFLEX with your Heavy Duty ProFLEX original insoles.
ProFLEX original (black) insoles come with 1000mAh batteries and an all-black Smart Charging Case. The 1000mAh batteries have gray foam on them with black writing.
The Heavy Duty batteries are 1300mAh. They will give you longer runtime for your insoles.
If you use a 1000mAh battery in one insole and a 1300mAh battery in the other, you will not damage the insoles. The insole with the 1300mAh battery will stay charged longer because of the Higher battery capacity.
The Heavy Duty Smart Charging Case has a green panel on the front. This case has a quick charge feature.
You can charge your original ProFLEX batteries in the Heavy Duty Smart Charging Case. The batteries will charge faster, but the runtime will be the same.
You can charge Heavy Duty batteries in the original Smart Charging Case but they will charge slower than the original ProFLEX batteries because the Heavy Duty batteries have a larger capacity (1300mAh).
You can use the Heavy Duty batteries in original ProFLEX (black) insoles.
Sorry, but we do not offer “upgrades” through the return/exchange process.
Can I charge a Heavy Duty Battery (1300mAh) and a regular ProFLEX battery (1000mAh) in the same Smart Charging Case?
You can charge a 1000mAh battery and a 1300mAh battery in the same Smart Charging Case, however the 1000mAh battery will completely charge faster because of the smaller battery capacity.
How do I tell if my Heavy Duty Smart Charging Case is working?
When no batteries are connected to the Smart Charging Case, the LEDs on the case glow red and green. When batteries are inserted and require a charge, the LED’s on the case will glow orange. When batteries are full charged, the LED’s on the case will glow green.
Can I turn off the Heated Insoles any time or do I have to wait until they completely discharge?
You can turn off Heated Insoles at any time.
Will I damage my batteries if I leave them charging for a long period of time?
No, leaving your batteries charging for a long period of time will not damage them.

How can I find the ThermaCELL Heated Insoles Bluetooth app in my app store?
Use the term “thermacell” as your search word in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Does the ThermaCELL Heated Product Bluetooth application cause any excessive drain to my device’s battery?
No. The application does not drain your device’s battery any faster than other applications.
Do I need internet access to add products or use the app?
You will need an internet connection to download the app, but you do not need an internet connection to use the app. You must have the Bluetooth function enabled on your smartphone or tablet to manage your product and use the app.
I don’t want to provide the registration information. Will this affect how my insoles work?
No, that will not affect how the product works.
Do you share the information that I provide in the registration process?
No we do not.
How do I add products?
Press the + sign on the My ThermaCELL Heated Products Page in the app. Once the app finds your product, press the + sign to the right of your Product ID code to add the product.
How do I know what my Product ID Code is?
Inside the battery compartment on each insole is a small sticker. Record the last four digits of that number on each insole. These are the numbers that will pop up when you search for nearby ThermaCELL Heated Products.
I lost my Product ID Codes and the sticker is no longer on my insoles. How do I get my codes?
Take your insoles to a location where there are no other ThermaCELL Heated Products around. When you press the + sign to add the product, the product you are holding should be the only product the app finds.
My friend has the same insoles and he picked the same ID code as me. Can we change the settings on each other’s insoles?
No. Insoles are “paired” with your device when you first add the product. Your friend would have to add your insoles to their device and know your code in order to make changes to your insoles.
I forgot the four digit ID code I picked for my insoles. How can I reset this code?
When prompted for your personal 4 digit ID Code, enter any four digits four times. The application will ask to reset the product which will allow entry of a new code and new name. Schawbel Technologies has no record of this code.
Can I rename my heated device?
Yes. Enter the 4 digit security code incorrectly until the device asks if you want to reset it. Click Ok. This will then allow you to reset your code (you can use the same number you had before) and rename your product.
How do I turn on my ProFLEX Heavy Duty Heated Insoles?
Insert fully charged batteries into the insoles. Be sure to insert the batteries without bending the red connector excessively. See your manual for more detail.
Use the Bluetooth application to select your desired heat setting.
In the event that your cell phone or tablet battery goes dead, you can turn on the ProFLEX Heavy Duty Insoles by doing the following:
Remove the insole from your footwear.
Remove and reinsert the battery.
While the light is flashing red and green, hold the battery in place, turn the insole green side down, and tap the insole lightly on a flat surface three times.
The insole will set to the last known heat setting of the right insole.
Repeat with left insole. Note that the left insole will also set to the last known heat setting of the right insole.
You cannot adjust the temperature using this method.
Do I have to process the Firmware updates?
Yes. The Firmware updates will keep your ProFLEX Heavy Duty Insoles with Bluetooth running smoothly.
How do I change the temperature setting on my insoles?
Pair your insoles with the Bluetooth application.
From the My Products screen, select your insoles.
Use the buttons to change the temperature settings.
You can link (each insole is the same temperature) or unlink (each insole can be set to a different temperature).
When insoles are re-linked, press a different heat setting, then press the desired heat setting to ensure that your insoles are heating at the same temperature.
What should I do if my ProFlex Heavy Duty (green) insoles are not heating correctly?
Ensure that your power source for charging is working, charging connections are secure, and that your batteries are fully charged.
Ensure that your smartphone is charged and other apps are functioning
Press the High heat setting button in the app. Then press the Low heat setting button. The active heat setting buttons in the app should be orange.
Check the My Products page to make sure that your insoles are still listed. If they are not listed:
Verify that the Bluetooth function in your phone is turned on.
On the My Products screen, drag down from the top to refresh the app.
On the My Products screen, press the + sign to re-pair the insoles with the app.
Verify that your insoles are responding to the application. You should see the following LED light indications on your insoles: 0 flashes = No Heat, 1 flash = Low, 2 flashes = Medium, 3 flashes = High.
To best see the LED, remove the insoles from the footwear and, with the battery in the insole, hold the insole with the top facing up and the toe pointed toward your forehead. The LED flashes can be seen at the top of the battery just under the indent for your finger used when removing the battery.
My Heated Insoles don’t get “hot” to the touch. Is there something wrong with them?
Heated Insoles create an optimal warm environment inside your boot, they don’t get “hot” to the touch. They will never get as hot as your disposable heated products. Heated Insoles are intended to keep your feet comfortable and warm in cold weather, rather than hot and sweaty. They maintain a temperature inside your boot or shoe between 100°F or 115°F (depending on the temperature setting chosen).
What can I do if my Heated Insoles are too warm, even when set on the Medium setting?
Temperature comfort will depend on the individual as well as the type, fit, and dryness of the socks and footwear you wear. You can use the No Heat setting on the Heated Insoles for a period of time until more heat is needed.
What temperature should my Heated Insoles get to?
Exposing the insole to the open air will cause the insole to become cooler on the surface. Your Heated Insoles regulate to a temperature of 100°F on Low, 110°F on Medium, and 115° on High when enclosed in footwear.
My feet aren't staying warm when using my Heated Insoles, but the insoles do produce warmth. What should I do?
Make sure your shoes or boots are completely dry inside.
Insoles should be turned ON at the first sign of a chill. It is better to be proactive rather than reactive with this product.
Make sure there is some space/air between the tops of your feet and the top of your boot. The air between will act as insulation and allows the warmth to circulate. If the top of your foot is pressed against the top of your boots, cold from the outside will transfer quickly into your foot.
What heat setting should I use when doing vigorous activity?
When doing strenuous activity, Heated Insoles should be in No Heat mode. At high exertion levels, the body typically generates enough heat to keep feet warm.
What does the No Heat setting in the app mean?
Use the No Heat setting to turn the heat off. After several hours of non-use, the insoles will go into “sleep” mode which, when the unit is stored, saves battery capacity for approximately 30 days.
How do I know the ProFLEX Heavy Duty Heated Insoles are working?
To manually verify the heat settings on your insoles, remove the insole from the shoe. The LED under the lip of the battery will flash either in groups of 1, 2 or 3 lights, depending on the heat setting selected. You should feel the warmth on the upper surface of a Heated Insole when it is held to your cheek or ear.
If you are able to change the heat settings using the app, the insoles are working.
Can I still use my in my Heavy Duty insoles if my smartphone goes dead?
Yes. Remove the insole from the footwear. Remove and reinsert the battery. While the light is flashing red and green, hold the battery in place, turn the insole green side down and tap the insole lightly on a flat surface three times. The insole will set to the last known heat setting of the right insole. Repeat for the other insole. The second insole will also set to the last known heat setting of the right insole.
How do I shut off my ProFLEX Heavy Duty Heated Insoles?
If the Heated Insoles are not going to be used again immediately, turn them completely off. For ProFLEX Heavy Duty Heated Insoles, pull the batteries out of the insoles.
If the Heated Insoles are going to be used again immediately, use the No Heat setting to turn the heat off. After several hours of non-use, the insoles will go into “sleep” mode which saves battery life over a prolonged period.

How should I store my insoles?

Do existing insoles need to be removed from footwear before inserting Heated Insoles?

This product should not be used in any environment where there is a likelihood of it being punctured by sharp objects. Under no circumstances should a battery or insole that has been punctured be connected to the charger.
If I notice that my product is damaged, what should I do?
If there is any indication that the product has been damaged, it should not be used or recharged.
I dropped my phone in water (or otherwise damaged my phone/tablet) while using your Bluetooth application. Will you replace my phone, any part of my phone, or pay for the repair or replacement?
No. Schawbel Technologies is not liable for any kind of damage under any circumstances, to any device that you chose to load and use the ThermaCELL Heated Products app on.
